By: Louise Forrest One thing that is certain about spots is that it can bring a great deal of discouragement to those who have them, whether it be a teenager in school wanting to go on a date, or an adult preparing for an all important job interview. There are various forms of spots, from those that are quite mild and are gone within a day or so, to those that are more severe causing the spots to be quite sore, very red and very large. Whilst spots are not a threat to life for many they can have a severe emotional impact, leading many people wanting to kill themselves or to feel very down as a result of having spots. Spots are normally considered to be very common amongst teenagers, and this true because of the high rate of hormonal activity. But spots can appear on just about anyone from babies to people who are in their sixties. You need to be careful if you have spots so as to not cause any scarring on the face as this can often be permanent. The appearance of spots can appear anywhere on the body and not just the face, such as the back, chest and also shoulders. In fact anywhere where there are glands there is a chance of spots developing. There is some research that suggests spots can also be a result of genetics and that they can be inherited, but this has yet to be proven where this is claim can be accepted on a scientific basis. A good routine is needed to ensure that spots are being treated, because even though spots will eventually go away on their own, there is a need to be proactive in taking care of the skin and making sure that it is as clean as possible. Whilst it cannot be proven that spots can be inherited from another family member it can be proven that the impact of having spots can be morally devastating resulting in many people wanting to avoid social events and simply wanting to shun society as a whole. This is why spots need to be treated, because it has also been shown that where a person has had a severe case of spots, and these are no longer present on the skin, the emotional results are dramatic, and the person becomes socially interactive and more willing to take part in gathering and is able to feel confident about themselves once again. One of the problems with treating spots is that there are many treatments that are available and sometimes it is just not possible to find a treatment that is going to suit everyone. This is because everyone is different and so the skin will also react differently when a certain cream or lotion is applied. You may need to experiment with various products, but you need to give them time to take effect, and you should also not mix other creams together. Most of all you should never give up as spots, if treated correctly, can be removed with success. Get more information about caring for spots.
